Climbing Holds
Our Story
I've been a keen climber for many years. When my little girl Luna was born, it wasn't long before she was getting involved. She was climbing before she could walk. At around 2 years old she was super keen to climb at our local bouldering centre, but was just too young. I ended up screwing a sheet of plywood to the wall in our garage and I made a series of basic holds out of pine for her to paint and climb on. Fast-forward 8 years and both the garage wall and the climbing holds have come on quite a bit... along with our climbing ability. We have shipped our holds to happy customers all over the world and had them set on walls in the UK, USA, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Cech Republic and New Zealand.
I make our holds, brushes and training products from various hardwoods and plywoods, all of the wood comes in the form of offcuts or is reclaimed, the aim is to create no waste. I shape every hold by hand in my small workshop at the bottom of my garden in Brighton. Sometimes I set out with a plan for a particular set. Sometimes I let the grain and characteristics of the wood dictate the shape. I test out all our hold designs on our garage spray wall, developing and refining as I go.
